If you have any questions, please call Jody, 336-4253. Weekly game scores need to be emailed (preferred) or called in to Jody Jenness after each game (jody@turnerfuneralhomes.com or 336-4253). This year it’s important scores are reported because the tournament brackets will be determined based on weekly game scores. Thank you to Dan Tryon and Cardio Plus for allowing us to post league schedules and weekly game scores on their website: cardioplus24.com End of the Year Tournament - March 2, 9 and 16 This year we will be ending league with a tournament. We will set up two eight team brackets which will be determined by game scores throughout the league. (Please remember to call or email me your game scores each week!) There will be a prize for the winning team. Brackets will be handed out in February. Game scoring Rally scoring will be used. Each game is to 25 (win by 2). Match is won by the best of 5 games. 5th game is played to 15 (win by 2). Players on the floor Five or Six players may be on the floor. Less than five players is a forfeit. There must not be more men on the floor than women at any time. If playing with 5 players, three women and two men are allowed, but not 3 men and 2 women. Hits and Serves When a team has more than one contact, at least one of the contacts needs to be from a woman (two men can not hit it over). A block is not counted as a hit unless it goes back over to the other side. There is no carrying or throwing the ball. LEGAL HITS ONLY!! Please remember, this is recreational, please refrain from pro-power slams that can cause personal injury. Serves can not be blocked or attacked. Net serves are playable! Net Violations If any part of the body hits the net it is a violation and the other tam gets the point. As a recreational league there will be no net refs; therefore, everyone will play by the honor system. If you know you are in error, say so. If both teams cannot agree upon the play in question, it will be an automatic re-serve. Please do not hang or pull on the nets! Obstacle Rule If the ball hits the ceiling, it is still playable only if the ball remains on your side of the net. If the ball hits the basketball hoop the ball is out of bounds. Forfeit or Canceling a Game If a team is more than 10 minutes late for a game, that team forfeits the first game. If 20 minutes late for a match, that team forfeits the 2nd game. If 30 minutes late the match is a forfeit. Please be fair to the opposing team and notify them ahead of time if your team is unable to make your game!! In case of inclement weather, please listen to KUOO for league cancellation. Children If children are present, an adult who is not playing must supervise them! They must be off the playing courts and not a distraction to the players. Please follow the rules set by the school, such as no food or drink in the gym. Equipment Those scheduled for the 5:30 games, please be early to set up the nets. The poles in the HS are located in the NW corner of the old gym. The poles in the MS are located in the closet near the boys locker room. If for some reason the closet is locked, call me on my cell phone, 330-0176. Those scheduled for the 7:00 games are responsible for taking down the nets and returning the balls to Jody’s home (only 3 blocks from the schools)...NOT to Kum & Go like last year. My address is 3002 Pinewood Dr. (Spirit Lake). Follow 29th St. west of the school. 29th St. will curve to the south and become Pinewood Dr. My (green) house is the 3rd house on the right side. If no one is home, please set them inside the garage door. Thank you!! |
